  • The Coens To Do A Western
    By Garth FranklinFriday December 28th 2007 12:15am
image It's looking very likely that the Coen Bros. thriller "No Country For Old Men" is going to be at the absolute top of my 'Best Films of 2007' list which is coming in the next few weeks.

So, many people including myself are wondering what the pair will get up to next. Of course we know that the thriller "Burn After Reading" with George Clooney and Brad Pitt is immediately on the cards, after that though they seem to be planning a period and gritty western.

The pair tell Cinema Blend that "we've written a western with a lot of violence in it. There's scalping and hanging ... it's good. Indians torturing people with ants, cutting their eyelids off... It's a proper western, a real western, set in the 1870s. It's got a scene that no one will ever forget because of one particular chicken."
