  • Singleton Helms "A-Team" Film
    By Garth FranklinTuesday December 11th 2007 2:41am
image Latino Review reports that John Singleton has come aboard to direct Fox's big screen adaptation of 80's TV classic "The A-Team".

The original show concerned an unofficial team of Vietnam vets wanted by the military for a crime they didn't commit who helped the innocent.

The new "A-Team" will be updated from the Vietnam era and reflect contemporary issues and politics. Tone of the film will be less cartoony and more serious, in the vein of "Die Hard" and "Lethal Weapon."

Show creator Stephen J. Cannell says that "not to denigrate the TV show, but nobody ever died," Cannell said. "We drove cars off cliffs and people got out and walked away. We're not going to do that (in the movie). In this the tone is more dangerous -- you can really die. It's very tense and exciting."
