Katherine Heigl ("Grey's Anatomy," "Knocked Up") will head up the romantic comedy "The Ugly Truth" for Lakeshore Entertainment and Sony Pictures says The Hollywood Reporter.

The story centers on a news producer (Heigl) who is forced to hire an obnoxious self-proclaimed relationship expert for her show. His theories end up helping her get the guy of her dreams.

"Legally Blonde" director Robert Luketic and scribes Karen McCullah Lutz and Kristen Smith have teamed up for the project which will begin filming on April 15th.
