John Mailer, son of the just deceased acclaimed author Norman Mailer, has secured the film rights to his father's most famous tome - "The Naked and the Dead" says The Hollywood Reporter.Mailer's first novel, 1948's 'Naked' is based on his experiences in the South Pacific during World War II.
The story deals with a single reconnaissance platoon of riflemen and the psychological conflicts that arise between them.
Warner Bros. Pictures has released a film version of the book back in 1958.
