Shock Til You Drop reports that Victor Salva is officially on board to write and direct "Jeepers Creepers 3," the latest installment in MGM's monster franchise.

Salva penned and directed both the 2001 original and its 2003 sequel about The Creeper, an ancient creature that comes out of hibernation for 23 days to feed.

Whilst Salva had previously been set to pen, his commitment to direct is new and is thought to tie in with a potential television series spin-off. Whether this sequel will go theatrical is presently undetermined.

A start-of-filming date is also unsure as Salva is also committed to "Entity", a vague sequel to his 1995 effort "Powder".
