Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment are planning a remake of 1993 Italian film "La Scorta," setting Asger Leth (""Ghosts of Cite Soleil") to direct and Peter Craig ("The Town," "Hot Plastic") to pen the screenplay reports Variety.

Original 1993 feature told the story of four policemen assigned to guard a special prosecutor trying to bring mob bosses to justice. His predecessor was blown away along with a bodyguard.

The four guards are conflicted about their jobs and frustrated as they watch government insiders thwart the lawman at every turn.
