The much buzzed about new documentary "The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters" chronicles the "Donkey Kong" arcade battle between longtime top player Billy Mitchell and upstart Steve Wiebe.

Now Producer Ed Cunningham and Director Seth Gordon tell MTV News that the outline for a dramatized feature is approved and the film is eight weeks out from a first draft.

Gordon says that he'd love Johnny Depp or Ed Norton for the role of Billy Mitchell, whilst Greg Kinnear or Nathan Fillion are their faves for Steve Wiebe.

Among their goals for the remake, the filmmakers want to show stuff they couldn't capture on film - especially some comedy moments.
