Aisha Tyler ("24," "Ghost Whisperer") has joined the cast of post-Katrina New Orleans indie action-thriller "Black Water Transit" reports Variety.

The story centers on a man (Laurence Fishburne) trying to free his junkie son from prison. Tyler plays a police detective, and Karl Urban also stars.

The film will be helmed by Tony Kaye, most famous for the acclaimed "American History X" and last year's controversial abortion doco "Lake of Fire."
