Three decades after his failed first attempt, acting legend Dustin Hoffman is trying his hand at directing again.

Hoffman will star, produce, direct and co-write the script for "Personal Injuries" based on the 1999 novel by Scott Turow ("Presumed Innocent," "The Burden of Proof") says USA Today.

In the project, which he's presently in the middle of adapting, he'll play a personal-injury lawyer, better known by their nickname of an 'ambulance chaser.' The bestseller was named as the Best Fiction Novel of 1999 by Time Magazine.

Whilst a threatened strike by the Writers Guild could delay the start of production, Hoffman hopes to bring the film out by next June.
