Ethan Hawke revealed to Star Pulse News that Willem Dafoe has joined the cast of the vampire flick "Daybreakers."

The Spierig brothers ("Undead") wrote and will helm the the story which pegs Hawke and Dafoe as duelling vampires in a near future where everyone has turned and is feeding on their own resources.

Hawke says "We're trying to get off on foreign humans. We're trying to get off of trying to create blood substitutes. It's a big analogy about what's going on now. It's really dark and weird and everybody's sucking each other's blood."

Sam Neill also stars in the film set to begin production later this year.
