  • So Much For That "Iron Man" Script
    By Garth FranklinThursday May 24th 2007 12:28am
image Most solid modern comedies, those that fill the resumes of the likes of Christopher Guest and Judd Apatow, are built almost entirely on sequences often improvised on the set that day.

It's not a formula that generally applies to or works with big-budget superhero movies however. Yet according to one of its stars, next year's "Iron Man" may bear little relation to its script.

MTV Movies Blog reports that at the recent "Surf's Up" press junket in Hawaii, actor Jeff Bridges says "We're doing a lot of improvisation in 'Iron Man' to discover scenes and get off the written page and doing a lot of work like that."

He added "I know Jon is very interested in grounding it as much in reality as he possibly can. The suit for instance, the first suit, it looks like, 'Oh yeah, maybe that could happen.' It's all possible."

Seeing as Bridges plays the mentor role, will he get to slip on Robert Downey Jr's suit? "I might, I might, but, on the other hand. I don't want to spoil it for the viewers."
