The other month it was revealed that MGM is set to remake Alan Parker's famed 1980 musical "Fame".

Now, Filmjerk reports that Andy Fickman ("She's the Man," "The Game Plan") has just signed on to helm the remake which aims to go into production at the end of the year.

Fickman scored the job through his work directing the 2004 musical satire version of "Reefer Madness". He's also currently attached to the Jennifer Love Hewitt-led comedy "She Had Brains, a Body, and the Ability to Make Men Love Her."
