Morris Chestnut ("Ladder 49," "Confidence," "The Cave") has signed on to star in Screen Gems' faith-themed drama "Not Easily Broken" says The Hollywood Reporter.

Brian Bird penned the adaptation of a book by T.D. Jakes ("Woman Thou Art Loosed") which revolves around a couple whose strength and faith are tested after the wife is injured in a car crash and the husband becomes attracted to another woman.

Bill Duke will helm the film, and shooting is scheduled to begin June 11 in Los Angeles.
