  • Hanks Gets $50 Mil For "Angels"?
    By Garth FranklinThursday April 26th 2007 9:02am
image A few weeks ago Cinema Blend broke the news here that Tom Hanks had been locked in for "The Da Vinci Code" prequel "Angels & Demons", a deal that included one of the biggest salaries in the history of Hollywood to do it.

What could've been dismissed as Net rumour was picked up and confirmed by the trade papers a few days later. Now, the original source for the story has come back with a number - $35 million.

Yep, that's right - not just $35 million upfront, easily nabbing the record for highest paid actor, but a big piece of the back end too. That means as much as 25% of domestic ticket sales - another $15 million should the film do as well as 'Da Vinci'.

Agents for supermodel turned actress Gisele Bundchen are also apparently demanding modeling price style wages for her to star alongside Hanks in the film - an amount which could be worth something like $13 million.

Finally, the source says that "Angels & Demons" could be one of the most expensive films ever made - with a budget in the high $200 million range.
