Rachel McAdams, Michael Pena and Tim Robbins have signed on to star in Neil Burger's bittersweet drama "The Return" for Lionsgate.

The trio plays three soldiers who return from the Iraq War after suffering injuries and learn that life has moved on without them. They end up on an unexpected road trip across the U.S. each with different goals.

Written by Burger and Dirk Wittenborn, the sub-$20 million project is aiming for a May 1st start date on both coasts with a December release planned.
