  • David Mamet On Joan, Voysey & Fighting
    By Garth FranklinTuesday February 13th 2007 3:32am
Acclaimed writer/director David Mamet ("Wag the Dog", "Spartan") recently spoke with Suicide Girls and confirmed he finished the screenplay for "Joan of Bark", but it's sitting on the shelf at present.

In terms of what's next for him, he's got several of things on the boil. First up, Sony Classics asked him to do a movie version of 1905 play "The Voysey Inheritance".

Another covers the subterranean community of cage fighter, cops, boxers, stuntmen and Navy Seals that exists in Los Angeles. The narrative follows a noble fighting trainee who "gets seduced away from his path and becomes commercialized"

That project is already penned and Mamet "may do that in the next year or so."
