  • The Last Sundance Deals & Awards

    With the Sundance Film Festival officially over on the weekend, awards were handed out and some last minute deals took place.

    ThinkFilm spent $4.5 million to acquire US theatrical rights to Ten Commandments-spoof "The Ten" and will release the film in the Summer.

    Various buzzed about films like "Snow Angels," "The Good Night," "The Good Life," "Chicago 10" weren't sold as of Sunday.

    Onto the awards and in dramatic competition the Grand Jury Prize went to illegal immigrant drama "Padre Nuestro", whilst John Cusack-led "Grace is Gone" took home the audience award.

    In documentary competition "Manda Bala" (Send a Bullet) about multi-level corruption in Brazil scored the Grand Jury Prize.

    Israel's "Sweet Mud" (Adama Meshugaat) took the World Cinema jury prize, and Irish musical romance "Once" took the audience award.

    Denmark's "Enemies of Happiness" took the World Cinema jury prize in the documentary category, whilst "In the Shadow of the Moon" scored the audience award in the category.

    "Rocket Science" and "War/Dance" took home directing nods in US competition, whilst doco "No End in Sight" landed a special jury prize.
