Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington are in negotiations to co-star in the Screen Gems thriller "Lakeview Terrace" reports the trades.

Penned by David Loughery, the story centers on an interracial couple who move into a new home. Their dream house turns into a nightmare when they are taunted by their next-door neighbor, a tightly wound, racist black LAPD officer (Jackson).

James Lassiter and Will Smith are producing through their Overbrook Entertainment company. Casting is already under way for the husband role (Washington will play the newlywed wife).

The project is out to directors and shooting is scheduled to start in May in Los Angeles.
