One of the hottest rumours online in recent days has been that actor Matthew Fox might be leaving hit show "Lost". Well, now you can kiss that talk goodbye.

Characters dying off or leaving "Lost" is nothing new with over half a dozen cast members having already departed so far during the show's three season run.

What's surprising is that Fox is generally considered the lead of this ensemble cast, and his character of Jack Shepard is one of the key three (the other two being Kate and Sawyer) whom the producers would definitely not kill off.

Now, in an exclusive chat with E! Online, creator and co-producer Damon Lindelof responded to the talk saying "This is the most insane rumor regarding Lost to date. The fact that you think we might do it is incredibly flattering".

In other words a dismissal but not an outright denial. It's an important factor considering Lindelof dismissed a major death last season with a similar vague answer, only for the death to occur after all.

The remaining episodes of the third season of "Lost" return for an uninterrupted run from February through til May.
