Sony Pictures has acquired feature film rights to Judith Viorst's 1972 best-selling children's classic "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" reports Reuters.
Mike Bender ("Bob the Musical", "Not Another Teen Movie") has been hired to write the adaptation about the trials and tribulations of a young boy who is experiencing one of his worst days ever.
Neal Moritz will produce. The book has sold more than two million copies, collected many awards, and kicked off a series of "Alexander"-themed books.
