Thomas Kretschmann ("The Pianist," "King Kong") is to play Nazi mass murderer Adolf Eichmann in a film based on the confession of the SS officer in charge of the logistics of the Holocaust reports Variety.

Eichmann was captured by the Israeli secret service after the war and put on trial in Israel. Before his execution he was cross-examined by Israeli police officer Captain Avner Less.

This cross-examination forms the centerpiece of the pic but plot will also include flashbacks to the 1940s. Troy Garity, Franka Potente and Stephen Fry also star.

Helmed by Robert Young ("Young Indiana Jones Chronicles," "Fierce Creatures"), shooting is set to start in Budapest on November 20th, with further scenes to be shot in Malta & Hungary.
