Australian acting legend Jack Thompson ("Sunday Too Far Away", "Breaker Morant") is involved in a new car-racing flick entitled "King of the Mountain" that will pay tribute to the late, great Peter Brock reports Moviehole.

The racing legend had been working closely with writer/director Sam Genocchio and producer Bill Leimbach to bring the fast paced action drama to the screen and he was to have appeared in the film which is scheduled to begin shooting in March 2007.

Sam and Bill spoke with Peter on the morning of the accident last week and Peter expressed his support for the latest draft of the script.

The Producers are in final discussions with David Campbell to play local boy racer Pace McDermott who has to overcome a mountain of battles if he's ever to redeem himself - including taking on the greatest driver, Peter Brock, on the toughest racing circuit in the world. They're now seeking out someone to play Brock. Thompson plays the Race Team Manager.
