Paramount Pictures has apparently picked up the film rights to Jodee Blanco's 2003 memoir "Please Stop Laughing at Me".
A very painful memoir of how the author recounts being the target of school and street bullies in her youth, Aussie scribe Stuart Beattie ("Collateral") has been tipped to adapt Blanco's memoir as a potential directing vehicle for Sam Mendes.
Beattie is in Australia with director James Mangold prepping for his new production, the $45 million remake of "3:10 to Yuma" set for a November start. 20th Century Fox will distribute that film.
