  • An Early Take On "Accepted"
    By Garth FranklinWednesday August 16th 2006 10:47am
My regular junket guy Paul Fischer occasionally will do a review for a film and more often than not I entirely disagree with him - the guy is way too positive about much of the shit that comes out. Still, he's the one in the States not me (not for lack of trying mind you), so he gets to see the shit first. In any case, here's his take on teen comedy "Accepted":

"Accepted" - A Review by 'Paul Fischer'

"Accepted" is one of the surprise hits of the summer, both raucously funny, yet full of heart and soul. Here is a wonderfully wise, deliciously subversive and smart comedy for anyone craving acceptance.

Perhaps it was a film that emerged at the right time, a film that struck a chord with this reviewer who could relate, in an odd way, to the central character. There are moments that range from the ridiculous to the genuinely caustic, and performances that are consistently measured.

Stand outs are newcomer Jonah Hill, a rare find in this strange industry, and the brilliant Lewis Black. Accepted is a rare surprise in this dead period of late summer, a total triumph and one of the genuinely most surprising films of the season"
