Ex-Lost star Ian Somerhalder has signed on to play the lead in RHI Entertainment's "Marco Polo" mini-series says Reuters.
The project follows the life of the 13th Century Venetian traveler and chronicles his travel to Mongolia, where he was accepted as an envoy into the court of Kublai Khan (Brian Dennehy) and spent 20 years on perilous adventures.
B.D. Wong also stars playing Polo's servant and right-hand man.
