FiringSquad has learned directly from Silent Hill movie screenwriter Roger Avary that he has signed on to both write and direct the upcoming film adaptation of "Driver", the long running driving-action game series from developer Reflections Software and publisher Atari.

The story centers on a getaway driver for hire, the best in the heist biz, who is put to the test on a job.

Avary has revealed that the movie will be made by Rogue Pictures and Constantin Films, and there is no word yet on a production start date.
