With television production costing more than ever these days, some shows have had to bite the bullet and probably my favourite one on the box right now looks to face some hard times next season reports The Teflon Critic.

Over a year ago issues were brought up about how the expense of shooting the hit series "Lost" was considerable due to all of its on-location filming, one of the big reasons why the famous 'cave set' was introduced into the series early on was to save on the expense. Then the issue seemed to go away, nothing much has been heard of since. Well now, the issue has reared its ugly head again.

With ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and "Desperate Housewives" being both cheaper to produce, the pressure is on for the production to move to Los Angeles to save on costs. The result is that the last 2-3 episodes of the current season of "Lost" have been rewritten and are presently being reshot.

The second season finale/third season opener will be a multi-party story featuring the castaways having to move to a different part of the island - one that obviously will resemble the Californian coast line much better.

Also expect far less forays into the jungle as such due to the release of the famous 'plague' that killed the Frenchwoman's crew. The producers have also promised to finally explain the origins of the polar bears sometime next season, and have guaranteed at least two deaths in this year's two-hour finale in May.
