  • New Release Date Announcements
    By Garth FranklinFriday March 31st, 2006 10:02pm
Fox has taken its bigscreen version of "Dallas" off its November 10th release date target, just days after director Robert Luketic exited the project. At present it remains unscheduled.

Its not the only big shift of late on the schedule with several changes, including Warner Bros. announcing its Summer 2007 slate - marking the second major studio to commit much of its 2007 tentpole products to dates (Disney Pictures did the same a few weeks ago).

Amongst existing shifts, CG comedy "Barnyard" has been moved up several months to July 28th, Zach Braff comedy/drama "The Last Kiss" has finally puckered up for an October 6th release, Matthew McConaughey/Matthew Fox comedy "We Are Marshall" has been pushed back a few weeks to December 8th, Jeff Bridges comedy "Stick It" has been pushed back a week to April 28th, and Paramount has delayed Jack Black comedy "Nacho Libre" two weeks to June 16th.

Several films have been moved up by 2-3 weeks including MGM pilot drama "Flyboys" now opening October 13th, CG comedy "Surf's Up" to June 8th 2007, and the "His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass" adaptation to November 16th 2007.

Various films in late 2006 and throughout 2007 have been set including some big titles such as "The Bourne Ultimatum" for August 3rd 2007, the DeNiro/Pfeiffer-led Neil Gaiman adaptation "Stardust" for June 22nd 2007, the "Black Christmas" remake for Decmebr 25th 2006, the Hugh Grant/Drew Barrymore rom-com "Music & Lyrics By..." for December 22nd 2006, the Wilmer Valderrama comedy "Unaccompanied Minors" for November 8th 2006, and the Adam Sandler comedy "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" for July 20th 2007.

Warners has set some of its slate for next year. Amongst the titles: "Ocean's Thirteen" on June 8th, "The Brave One" on June 22nd, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" on July 13th, "10,000 B.C." on July 27th and "Nancy Drew" on August 10th. Finally, New Line has shifted its schedule around a bit, announcing "Fracture", "Journey to the Center of the Earth", and "Shoot 'Em Up" for their 2007 slate, whilst pulling "The Number 23", "The Cleaner", "Little Children" and "The Martian Child" entirely off their schedule.
