  • Brown Streaks Into "Infinity"
    By Garth FranklinThursday March 30th, 2006 11:29pm
Edward R. Pressman Film Corp. has acquired rights to Robert Kanigel's 1991 biography "The Man Who Knew Infinity: A Life of the Genius Ramanujan" says The Hollywood Reporter.

Screenwriter-director Matthew Brown is set to start production on the film in the fall, putting it in competition with another just-announced Ramanujan film in development which legendary comedy writer/actor Stephen Fry plans to co-direct and write with Indian helmer Dev Benegal.

'Man' centers on mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan Iyengar, and his journey from the slums of Madras in India, to Cambridge University during World War I. During his studies, Ramanujan pioneered advanced mathematical theories with the guidance of his eccentric professor, G.H. Hardy.
