"Nanny McPhee" & "Waking Ned Devine" director Kirk Jones will write and direct "Everybody's Fine," a remake of the 1990 Giuseppe Tornatore-directed road trip picture "Stanno tutti bene" reports Variety
Jones has already begun drafting an American-set version of the Italian film, which centered on a widower who realizes his wife was his only connection to his kids. He sets off on an impromptu bus ride to reunite with each grown child.
Jones has already completed a road trip in Greyhound buses, cars, trains and planes to gather ideas to give the film his personal stamp. Shooting is expected to begin in the U.S. in January.
