  • Tom Cruise Keen On "3:10"
    By Garth FranklinThursday February 23rd, 2006 11:41am
Tom Cruise is eyeing several high-profile studio features with Sony Pictures remake of 1957 Western "3:10 to Yuma" looking to be the favourite reports Variety.

James Mangold will direct the film this summer. Word is that Cruise is interested in playing the villain, who is being brought to justice by a lone lawman. Cruise apparently became interested in the picture after Stuart Beattie ("Collateral") turned in a rewrite of the script by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas.

Cruise is also interested in the Adrian Lyne-directed Fox drama "Two Minutes to Midnight" about a divorce lawyer whose wife is kidnapped and is ordered to find his wife by 11:58 or kill himself, and the Andy Tennant-directed Warner Bros. drama "Fool's Gold" about a divorced couple who rekindle romance during a treasure hunt.
