Its been announced today that French actress Eva Green has been cast to play the enticing Vesper Lynd opposite Daniel Craig in his debut appearance as James Bond in the highly anticipated 007 adventure thriller "Casino Royale".
Along with yesterday's announcement of Mads Mikkelsen as the villain Le Chiffre, today also saw the role of Bond's regular CIA ally Felix Leiter being cast - with acclaimed actor Jeffrey Wright landing the part.
Green is best known for playing the lead female role in Ridley Scott's Crusades epic "Kingdom of Heaven" and the sexy Bernardo Bertolucci drama "The Dreamers".
Acclaimed character actor Wright has been in many films in recent years including "Syriana", "Shaft", "The Manchurian Candidate", "Ali", "Broken Flowers" and HBO's "Angels in America". He'll next be seen in M. Night Shymalan's "Lady in the Water" and opposite 'Royale' co-star Daniel Craig in the 'body snatchers' redux "The Visiting".
Rounding out the cast are Giancarlo Giannini as Mathis, Caterina Murino as Solonge, Simon Abkarian as Dimitrios, Tobias Menzies as Villiers, Ivana Milicevic as Valenka, Clemens Schik as Kratt, Ludger Pistor as Mendel, and Claudio Santamaria as Carlos.
