    "Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has sued producer Holly Wiersma and the production company behind "Factory Girl" for $6 million in a dispute over the North American distribution rights to the Edie Sedgwick biopic. Sony's case seeks a court order declaring that it owns those rights according to an agreement allegedly reached in October. At last month's Sundance Film Festival, the Weinstein Co. said that it had acquired all rights to the film in North America..." (full details)

    "Paramount Classics and National Geographic have jointly pre-bought U.S. rights to the $12 million French docu "The White Planet," shot at the North Pole over three years.
