"Paramount Pictures is in negotiations with a private equity fund headed by financier George Soros to sell the DreamWorks film library. Paramount reached a deal last month to acquire DreamWorks for $1.6 billion. At the time, Paramount said it was looking to sell the library, which includes such titles as the Oscar winners "Gladiator" and "American Beauty," for $850 million-$1 billion. If a deal is reached, it is expected that Paramount would earn a fee for handling the library's titles, and it might reserve the right to buy back the library at a later date..."
