George Clooney is set to direct "Suburbicon", a comedy written by the Coen brothers with plans to film in around a year's time reports Empire.

"They offered me a part in Suburbicon a long time ago, and since then decided they have other projects they want to work on. So I called them up and said 'How about me taking a spin at it?' Because it's a really interesting, really funny, very dark comedy" says Clooney.

Clooney is currently working on "The Good German" which focuses on Clooney as a US journalist drawn into a murder mystery. He stars alongside Cate Blanchett and Tobey Maguire.
