Comedian Dane Cook is in talks to star in "Employee of the Month," which Gregory Coolidge is directing for Lions Gate Films reports Variety.

In the pic Cook will play Zack, one of two dorky clerks at a discount superstore. When the men think the affections of the new cashier are at stake, competition between them for the "Employee of the Month" title turns brutal.

Cook is a rising comedian who made his name on the national stand-up comedy circuit. Cook can currently be seen in Lions Gate's "Waiting," with Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris. He also stars in Hunter Richards' "London," starring Jessica Biel and Chris Evans.
