  • Bond Car Makes Movie Poll History
    By Garth FranklinTuesday August 23rd 2005 3:55pm
James Bond's Lotus Esprit from "The Spy Who Loved Me" has been voted the most memorable car in movie history reports The BBC.

The much acclaimed 1977 film saw Roger Moore drive the car off a pier into the sea, when it turned into a submarine. When the car springs a leek, he ends up driving it up onto a beach, much to the shock of many locals enjoying the sun.

Back to the Future's DeLorean came second in the poll of 5,000 members of an online film rental service. Starsky and Hutch's Ford Torino was third, followed by the VW Beetle from Herbie: The Love Bug. Batman's Batmobile finished in fifth place.

Cars from Bullitt, The Blues Brothers, Grease, Ghostbusters and Thelma & Louise were also in the top 10.

    Thanks to 'Dust Bunny'.
