  • Jackson Loves "Wolf", Close Quits "Shield"
    By Garth FranklinTuesday June 14th 2005 7:32pm
"The Wolf Totem", based on the novel of the same tag by Jiang Rong, is a project that New Zealand's WETA company and Beijing's Forbidden City Film Co. are circling to jointly-produce reports Monkey Peaches.

"Totem" tells the yarn of a pack of wolves struggling to survive the Mongolian Prairie. Both CGI and real wolves will be used for the flickeroo. The $48 million dollar project will take no less than three years to complete.

" There is no truth to reports circulating that Peter is attached to produce the Wolf Totem, Peter and Weta are in no way associated with this project" says a representative of Wingnut Films.

Meanwhile, MSN received some breaking news straight from the woman in question's mouth earlier this week - Glenn Close, who had never done a television series before joining FX's "The Shield" this year, is not planning on returning for a second season.

The show shoots in L.A., while Close lives in New York. "I loved doing that show and love those guys. But it's impossible to have my life a thousand miles away from it." says Close. Instead, she will be staying home in New York as her only daughter heads into her senior year of high school.

    Thanks to 'YY' & 'Greg'.
