    The acclaimed D.M. Thomas novel "The White Hotel" is slated to shoot in the Czech Republic later this year. Philippe Mora will direct the pic, Susan Stewart Potter wrote the screenplay. Published in 1981, 'Hotel' begins in post-World War I Vienna and ends in a Nazi concentration camp. The surreal drama traces the life of an opera singer who enlists the help of Sigmund Freud and becomes his famous case study known as Anna G. The project has previously attracted the interest of the likes Dustin Hoffman, Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep..." (full details)

    Brian Levant will direct the family film "Planet Terry" for New Line Cinema. "Planet" tells the story of a science fiction enthusiast who finds out that he is actually an alien who has been placed on Earth as part of an intergalactic witness protection program.     Odd Lot Entertainment and Hyde Park Entertainment will produce and cofinance the Iain Softley-directed "Trap for Cinderella." The story follows a suspicious fire that traps two young women. One dies; the survivor is burned beyond recognition and left with amnesia. Plastic surgery gives her a new face, but suspicions arise that she may not have been a victim. Chris Gerolmo ("Mississippi Burning") adapted the novel by Sebastien Japrisot ("A Very Long Engagement").
