The Hollywood News reports that the latest issue of Total Film in the UK has interesting updates on sequels to two acclaimed films by two much-followed directors.

David Fincher was asked as to whether or not a sequel to SE7EN will make it to the screen - "I read a script two or three years ago that they wanted to make the sequel to Se7en. It didn't make a lot of sense to me. They wanted Morgan to have become clairvoyant in some way and that was the way he was now solving serial-killer cases! And I was like, 'Well, that's handy!' Its the kind of high concept you worry about. So I dont know that there is going to be a sequel. I do know that they have to call me if they're going to do it."

Meanwhile, Paul Schrader spoke of the proposed sequel to his directorial effort "American Gigolo" starring Richard Gere - "I've been working on this for many years. It's not a sequel, it's a progression. It's that same type of character, that homosexual society walker, but now in his 50's. I've come close three times on this one but now I think I'm nearly there. With Steve Martin, I just couldn't make the deal work financially. With Kevin Kline, he said he'd do Cole Porter instead. With Tim Robbins, I was very close, but then he decided didn't want to go to Berlin, where we were going to be shooting."
