  • Nighy On "Pirates" & "Underworld" Sequels
    By Garth FranklinFriday April 22nd 2005 12:29pm
Empire Online recently chatted with the great Bill Nighy ("Love Actually", "Shaun of the Dead", "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy") and he spoke quite a bit about his upcoming projects including his role of Davy Jones who seems to be the villain of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest".

"I am a very, very, very, very bad man and I am there to make people suffer in all new ways, in ways that you won't have seen before. I have a boat and I have a crew, and they are really evil buggers." He also confirmed he'll be CG for the most part - "I'm so computer generated that you might have trouble spotting me. You'll know it's me, but you might have to check the credits afterwards."

He'll next be seen reprising the role of Viktor in "Underworld: Evolution" - "I know, but guess what - they went back in time. See what I'm saying? Very clever. I'm now back in time, in medieval times, in full armour, up a mountain in Canada, in deepest snow, with all the guys. I think they got me back out of pity. I'm not in it a great deal. [I'm] largely back to account for the reawakening of the second elder. This is when Marcus comes to town."

Marcus is the other elder who's awakening will apparently lead to a truce between the vamps and lycans. The "Underworld" sequel opens in December. "Pirates" next July.
