  • Ledoyen Joins "Boulette" & "Seed"
    By Garth FranklinFriday March 4th 2005 4:46pm
Monsters & Critics reports that Virginie Ledoyen ("The Beach," "8 Women") will star in the French comedy "La Boulette" for director Francis Veber, and the World War II romance "Seed of Contention" for director Ana Marie Laperal. Filming for these movies starts in June and in November, respectively. She is currently shooting "Holly" in Cambodia for director Guy Moshe.

"La Boulette" follows a wealthy businessman who is caught with his mistress in a compromising photo, he blames an unsuspecting dimwit caught in the same photo to convince his wife of his fidelity to her. Meanwhile, the fall guy has to convince his girlfriend that he's not cheating on her.

"Seed of Contention" is inspired by a true story, the film traces the lives of Dean, an American G.I., and Mila, his Spanish wife, in the midst of World War II Manila. After Dean is captured in the Bataan Death March and sent to prison camp, he is feared dead, and Mila is compelled to ensure hers and her family's survival. Later, Dean manages to flee camp only to find his family under house arrest. Since the presence of an American escapee compromises their safety, Mila has no choice but to sequester Dean in the basement where they can be together only in the dead of night. Ultimately, an unexpected event forces Mila to make a decision that challenges the integrity of the couple and deals lasting repercussions on everyone's lives.

    Thanks to 'James'
