"Layer Cake" director Matthew Vaughn has told Teletext that he has withdrawn from the film of the hit '60s TV series "The Man From U.N.C.L.E".
The British "Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels" producer who recently narrowly missed out on directing "Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix", is developing a spy movie with "Trainspotting" writer John Hodge instead.
Vaughn told Teletext: "It's going to be very cool and take a long time to write but we've nearly finished the treatment. It's an original script and we're going to do all the things that you can't do in any mainstream spy movie. We're going to try to reinvent the whole spy franchise"
