  • Sony Pictures 2005 Slate Preview

    Without any "Spider-Man" movies til 2007, Sony's Columbia Pictures division is in for a slightly quieter time next year and today Blackfilm has posted photos from their upcoming slate including some first shots ever for several productions. Here's a look:


    "Guess Who" (March 25th 2005)
    Stars: Bernie Mac, Ashton Kutcher

    Story
    : A comedic remake of "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner". In this, an African-American father (Mac) is less than thrilled when his daughter brings home her white fiancé (Kutcher).



    "Man of the House" (April 8th 2005)
    Stars: Tommy Lee Jones, Anne Archer, Brian Van Holt

    Story
    : Tommy Lee Jones plays a hard-edged Texas Ranger who goes undercover as an assistant cheerleading coach to protect five University of Texas cheerleaders after they’ve witnessed the murder of a federal informant.



    "XXX: State of the Union" (April 29th 2005)
    Stars: Ice Cube, Samuel L. Jackson, Willem Dafoe

    Story
    : Follows the adventures of a criminal (Cube) who is coerced by NSA Agent Gibbons (Jackson) into becoming a field agent under their new “XXX” program (which stands for “three strikes and you’re out”). Gibbons and his new agent must track a dangerous military splinter group, led by Willem Dafoe, that is conspiring to overthrow the U.S. Government in the nation’s capital.



    "Fun with Dick and Jane" (June 24th 2005)
    Stars: Jim Carrey, Tea Leoni, Angie Harmon

    Story
    : Remake of the 1977 comedy starring George Segal and Jane Fonda, Leoni and Carrey will play an upper middle-class couple who turn to pulling dangerous heists in order to pay the bills.



    "The Legend of Zorro" (September 23rd 2005)
    Stars: Antonio Banderas, Catherine Zeta Jones

    Story
    : It has been eight years and Zorro has been quietly settling with his own family in San francisco. His little boy, Jouqauin, is now 10 years old and contains no information of his father's secret life. When these angry tyrants come with plans of their own, Zorro is called upon to save the day against his new nemesis, Armand. Also Elena will be in mask as the aspiring wife and new partner of Zorro.
