  • Casting Rumours Abound
    By Garth FranklinWednesday, August 4th 2004 8:31AM
Gotta love the realm of casting news, just when things start to get quiet - bingo, it revs back up with stars attaching themselves to projects quicker than Dominic Monaghan to a photo opportunity. Here's a gift bag of rumours:

    BloodRayne
HNR reports that Kristanna Loken, best known for her role opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Terminator 3", has signed on as the title character in the film adaptation of the popular action-horror video game "BloodRayne". Loken will begin work on BloodRayne in August 2004 shooting in locations throughout Romania. As the film’s lead, Loken will play the title character who is half human and half vampire, driven by vengeance to overthrow her father, Kagan, king of all vampires

    Dirty Harry
Currently in Australia to promote "Walking Tall", Dwayne Johnson has been doing the local press rounds and talk of a potential future remake came up - the classic Clint Eastwood cop drama "Dirty Harry". Speaking with Triple M Radio, Johnson said the classic film is "ripe for a remake", and that it is one of his favourite films of all time. He would of course play Harry Callahan. Meanwhile, whilst on TV's "Rove Live" he joked that his wife has ruled that he's no longer to do love scenes in movies with other women. Hmmm!!

    The Fantastic Four
The Hollywood Reporter indicates "Nip/Tuck" star Julian McMahon could be slicing his way into "Fantastic Four." The actor is in talks to round out the cast of the comic book adaptation as the quartet's main nemesis Dr. Doom for 20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios. McMahon got the offer Friday, and sources say a deal is likely to be made very shortly.

    National Lampoon's Pledge This!
The sorority spoof directed by William Heins and penned by Cheryl Guerriero and Anna Obropta, is apparently in negotiations with former SNL star Molly Shannon to play the role of Kathy. Kathy is a woman who dumps her dead-beat husband who she supported for many years and decides to go back to school. She's a quirky (sex loving) Freshman who lands on the same dormitory floor as the other misfits.

    Thanks to 'Mark' & 'Pat'.
