  • More on "X-Files 2" & "Doom"
    By Garth FranklinTuesday, June 8th 2004 4:02PM
In an article last week David Duchovny spoke about how all the key players in the "X-Files" franchise are all keen to do a new movie. Well now today, Variety spoke with the series creator Chris Carter whose sentiments echoed Duchovny: "Frank (Spotnitz) and I have worked out a story, and there's a negotiation with (Fox) going on". Carter also revealed he's currently working on two other film projects.

In another story related to an article last week, id Software head Todd Hollenshead talked with HomeLan about last week's trades announcement that Universal now has the rights to make a movie based on their game property "Doom":

"The movie rights have reverted to id, as Warner's option period expired. However, we remain a "free agent" at this time and multiple studios are interested in the project. The team of John Wells (ER, et. al.) and Lorenzo DiBonaventura (The Matrix, et. al.) that has been working on the project for over a year will remain affiliated with the DOOM movie. The studio question at this point primarily involves the financing".
