  • "Batman" & "Catwoman" Updates
    By Garth FranklinTuesday, June 8th 2004 2:37PM
Scoops on the two big red and blue spandex clad superhero movies in the works appeared yesterday, so it's only fair to balance it out today with talk of the two black rubber encased ones.

    "Batman Begins"
On the right comes what's believed to be a first glimpse of Gary Oldman's look as the 'commissioner to be' cop Jim Gordon in the upcoming "Batman Begins". The photos appeared in a recent French film magazine and cropped up online just a few hours ago.

Meanwhile New York City resident 'Hannah' dropped in this little tidbit to my e-mail this morning and any Big Apple residents who have time for some spying, I hope this helps:

"I am currently staying in the Hotel Metro and today there have been signs around the lobby and around the fourth floor apologising for the disruptions due to filming of 'TIG' (the Batman movie alias that was reported from Essex and London). The hotel is billed as 1920s in design and therefore may suit the production design of Batman".

    "Catwoman"
Halle Berry recently spoke about the role, the story and more over on Cinemax and CMN has typed a transcript of the important points:

"I play Catwoman, and the plot of the story is...I'm a young art director for a cosmetics company. Early on in the movie, I find out that there's a corrupt element to this company. She then takes it upon herself to try to foil the crime, but in the process of foiling that crime, she is in fact killed and is reborn with very cat-like qualities.

The most fun for me was everyday when I got to put on that suit and prance around and live in my alter ego state. To feel that level of sexuality...feel that level of power. I got to play a lot of jokes on people and do insane things that were naughty, and I really shouldn't say, but I took advantage of it! *laughs*

I did a lot of my own stunts, which was a surprise to me. I thought, 'This is too hard, I'll never be able to do this.', but actually I did a good bit of them.
This is a scene...I think it's one of the first fight sequences that Catwoman has.  She is on the prowl in a nightclub, and she's about to get her little claws on what she thinks is the bad guy. She sort of pushed him out into this alley way and just does a number on the poor guy!"

Thanks to 'Greg', 'Gustavo' & 'Anthony'
