If being linked to not but one but two roles in the upcoming "Superman" film weren't enough, now Brendan Fraser has another superhero casting rumour swirling around his reputation.
IGN Film Force has learned who is in the running to star in Fantastic Four as Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic and it's not George Clooney as earlier rumoured - rather Brendan Fraser. Sources close to the studio confirmed that the 35-year-old thesp is a contender for the lead role but emphasized that no official casting has taken place.
According to the industry trades, Fraser has no other film projects lined up for this summer. That makes him available for Fantastic Four, which begins filming this August in Vancouver. Tim Story will direct from a script by Mark Frost. Whether or not Fraser is cast as Mr. Fantastic remains to be seen but The Mummy star is definitely a major contender.
So for now the rumours stand at Fraser for the strechable Richards, Michael Chiklis as the big rocky The Thing, Paul Walker as the ultimate flamer - The Human Torch, and either Julia Stiles or Christina Millian for Invisible Woman.
