Every year a big exhibition is held for German digital artists called FMX and 'HuVu' was on hand with a short report about several major upcoming Europe-shot fantasy movies:
"Volker Engel ("Independence Day", "Godzilla") held a speech at this year's FMX in Stuttgart and showed us footage from the upcoming new cinematic adaptation of the "Nibelungensage", the old German tale of dragonslayer Siegfried (Benno Fuermann) and the queen Brunhilde (Kristanna Loken), directed by Uli Edel. International Title reads "Kingdom in Twilight". He explained some scenes to us - a fight on on an ice plain - and the progress in developing the dragon Fafnir from concept art to animated 3D model. Looks quite good till now. Volker especially praised Kristanna Loken - her performance would have been terrific".
Director/Producer Uwe Boll ("House of the Dead") was here today as well and he showed us a 7-minutes trailer of "Alone in the Dark", which is based on the fourth episode of the successful game series which inspired "Resident Evil", starring Christian Slater, Stephen Dorff and Tara Reid. The footage looked ok but wasn't that much horror/suspense (although there's a kind of monster "snake" in it), pretty much straight action, and a Tara Reid nude scene. Uwe Boll has already acquired the rights for "FarCry", the new German top-selling computer game.
We got to see the intro and outro of "Shrek 2", as well as a 'making of' video of Pixar's "Incredibles". Both were devastatingly funny".
Thanks again to 'HuVu'
