  • "Miriam" Turns Heads In UK
    By Garth FranklinWednes. March 3rd, 2004 5:10AM
Reality TV continues getting stranger and stranger. So it all started out with simple ideas like desert castaways, singer wannabes, constantly observed housemates, etc. Now its all fake marriages, spoiled rich brats in the countryside, wife swapping, average joes, midgets seeking love, and so on. There's so much product out there that it's all kind of a blur though one new show from England should prove to be a bit of a hoot.

Check her out guys - this Mexican beauty is voluptuous, has a fondness for fine foods and has a little secret. You see she's really a man. That little shocker has caused all sorts of controversy last month when the word got out and last week the mess got somewhat sorted out.

What happened was Sky One came up with an idea for a new British reality series entitled "There's Something About Miriam" in which six good looking heterosexual guys competed for the affection of Miriam unbeknownst that she's really a he. Think "The Bachelorette" but set in Ibiza and with one hell of a twist at the end.

When the truth was learned, legal threats were launched but then the guys quickly came to a cash settlement and the show quickly went to air last week in the UK with the audience now in on the twist right from the start.

A network/company has yet to pick up US distribution rights to the show.

    Thanks to 'Mr. Gwyneth Paltrow'.
